Inexpensive and Free
Graphic Design Software

Do you have a graphic design idea in mind but don't know what program to use?

Well, this page will help you find free graphic design software and inexpensive programs that won't put a dent in your pocket.

I personally use Adobe's line of design programs as a professional graphic designer.

I would highly recommend Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.

But because of the price and level of skill you need to have to use these programs, I have built a list of free and affordable, easy to use programs.

If you are looking for quick, no-fuss programs this is the list for you.

First of all, I would recommend the line of Serif programs for beginners and those who will not do a whole lot of designing. In the past, I personally tried the program PagePlus. You can download the programs for free and they are easy to learn and use. This Serif line of free graphic design products includes:

  • PagePlus (Desktop Publishing),
  • PhotoPlus (Photo editor),
  • WebPlus(Web site creator),
  • DrawPlus (Graphics creator), and
  • 3DPlus (3D object creator).

Here's a list of free graphic design software:

  • Serif PagePlus
  • Scribus
  • Open Office

Always download items from the web at your own discretion. Be aware of the Terms of Use before downloading freeware or shareware.

Software That's Not Free But Doesn't Hurt Your Wallet

If you are willing to take a step up and purchase a program, here is a list of programs that are affordable. Remember that the more you pay the better the quality program and with a better program you get more capabilities.

  • Nova Business Card Factory Deluxe 3.0
  • Nova Print Artist Platinum 22
  • Nova Print Explosion
  • Borderbund PrintShop
  • Microsoft Office Publisher
