Mini Business Cards – What's the Hype?

The traditional business card size of 3.5x2 inches isn't the only option available anymore. To stand out, some business owners are switching to mini business cards.

They're gaining popularity as way to transform ordinary business cards into unique business cards!

As someone who's designed and personally used miniature business cards, I'll dive into the answers to those questions.

What Are Mini Cards Exactly?

Mini business cards are a new and innovative size for a business card. They're smaller, but still pack in the punch and hold the typical contact info such as a name, email, website, and phone number.

Although they may vary slightly from printer to printer, they normally measure at about 3.5 inches by 1.5 inches or somewhere in between.


Depending on who you speak to, you will hear them referred to as slim cards, or mini cards.

What's The Hype? What Are The Benefits of A Mini Card?

For those looking to have a unique business card, mini cards are a quick and cheap way to make your business card stand out — simply by changing the size!

  • When exchanging cards, the size is a conversation starter because they're not the average business card.
  • There's a cool factor about mini cards which makes people more likely hold on to them simply because they're cool business cards.
  • Especially for start-ups, the size works better for those who don't have a lot of contact information – compared to having a standard size business cards with a lot of empty white space.
  • For businesses that are environmentally conscious, these cards are an eco-friendly option to reduce paper use.
  • Their uses are endless! You can use miniature cards for other purposes than just a business card.

Speaking of endless uses... besides a mini card's main use as a business card, they can also be used as coupons, tickets, or hang–tags. A few businesses have come up with some pretty cool ways to utilize them.
